Camilla’s Family Wishes

"Dear CWCF

On behalf of us all I would like to thank you at CWCF for the wonderful gift of a television and camera. These items have been an instant success. The children can now actually see the screen and enjoy their DVDs without squinting.

Your visit arrived at a very difficult time for Camilla and us all. As I hope was not too apparent, we were all very moved indeed. Not only were the gifts very much wanted items, but perhaps the main gift was to know that other people care about Camilla and what she has been going through this year. Camilla has been amazingly resilient throughout but the care and compassion shown by your charity has been a very strong boost to her.

The day after your trip Camilla was booked back at The Royal Marsden for the results of her latest scans. We are thrilled that they were negative meaning that after some more scans, etc she can have her lines removed and start to rebuild her strength and her life. Your visit must have been a good omen.

Below is an email that Camilla sent us after we had granted her a wish for a ride in a helicopter:

"Dear CWCF, Thank you so much for the helicopter ride you sent us on which we went to today! It was absolutely terrifying to start with, after the pilot told us the helicopter we were meant to be flying in had stopped working so they put us in an even bigger one instead!

We flew all the way up to London and saw all the sights like the London Eye and Canary Wharf; it was pretty scary considering how high up we were! I had an amazing time.

Thank you so much for all you have done for us, it has meant a lot.
