We like surprises and when one of our cancer children contacted us from her bed saying she knew of something that would help her Mum & Dad as well as her, we put wheels in motion and with the help of a suggested friend we granted the wish whilst they were out. This was the e-mail we received:-

Dear CWCF

What a wonderful surprise when we arrived back from the hospital to find two new sofas! They are lovely and so comfortable. We would like to thank you and all the people who have raised funds for Children With Cancer Fund for making us much more comfy. Gemma can now relax on them in the lounge when she is feeling bad.

Below is an e-mail we received from Gemma's mum, Sue, after paying for venue hire & food for her 18th birthday party.

Hello all at Children with Cancer Fund,

We would just like to give a tremendous thank you to you all for the contribution which you gave towards our daughter’s 18th Birthday party last month. She had a fabulous time and so did all the family and friends who attended. She spent the entire evening on the dance floor and said it was the best night of her life. Emotions were running high after all she had been through that year but it was fantastic to see her having such a good time.

We are eternally grateful to all the people who have helped raise money for the charity and made our lives so much better through all the kindness we have received. We went back up the Royal Marsden last week for three monthly blood tests and everything was OK, which is fantastic, she is slowly getting back to being able to do all the things she wants to do although she is still suffering with a lot of tiredness.
