Owen's Story

What a lovely family, Owen was bubbly, his sister was obviously devoted and the Mum thought of only them.When we asked them for their wish list the Mum e-mailed us with various items like a bike, a play station or some garden toys for the children, but, nothing for herself. So I replied with “WHAT ABOUT YOU” and got a reply of, “as long as the children are happy I’ll be okay”. After some more talking it transpired that her dishwasher had broken down which made our decision for us. We bought Mum the dishwasher, Owen his play station and Owen’s sister a new bike. The family were also moving to another house (so the children could have their own bedrooms) so we also gave them some money to use for decorating.

Owen’s Laptop

Budgets don’t allow for one laptop per child at most schools, but it was important that Owen had his own because unfortunately his cancer has left him with speech and mobility difficulties. So CWCF stepped in and bought Owen his own laptop which his Mum & teachers have set up for him. “It’s given him so much confidence,” his Mum told us.
