William’s Story

We asked one young lad what his wish was and he knew instantly, “Playmobil”. Both William and his brother loved this toy and they soon gave us a list of Playmobil items they wanted. Easy you may think, but, one shop had one bit, the other shop had the other bit and even on line they were out of stock of items. Eventually we gathered all the bits together and rang the family. You can imagine the look on his face when he realised that we had been able to get him the bits he had asked for.

A short while after they left us having collected their wish we received a text message which read like this:-

Hi, thank you so much. He is really, really excited. He has already phoned his Dad and Gran to tell them about it. We have just arrived home and are about to start building it. XX”

A while later, when William was feeling quite poorly, we decided to try and cheer him up. We gave William a wardrobe for his Build-A-Bear outfits, his brother Edward a Build-A-Bear pony and both boys received vouchers for the store.

His parents wrote to us shortly afterwards:

We always wonder if you know just how much these generous donations can touch the children when times are difficult, and how needed these moments are for the parents, to see that they really are just normal children going through particularly awful situations.

William is continuing with chemo and regular trips to The Marsden. Today is a good day and he is out with his Gran but I have also sent a photograph of my boys together.
